The invention relates to the field of non-ferrous metallurgy, in particular, to techno; Lot-Ii of electrochemical extraction of copper from acid solutions and devices for this technology.
A cathode for electroextrusion of copper from aqueous acidic solutions, which is released from an electrically conductive material 1, is known.
A disadvantage of the known cathode is that it has a poorly developed surface for electrodeposition of copper.
The aim of the invention is to recover copper from poor acid solutions.
The goal is achieved by the fact that the cathode is made of coke with a particle size of minus 20 plus 80 mesh and has a porosity of 25-97%.

The cathode operates as follows.
Coke, crushed to fineness plus 20 minus 80 mesh, is supplied as a slurry to the cathode sections, where electrodeposition of copper on coke particles occurs during the circulation of electrolyte. Coke used: there must be a conductivity of more than 0.01 ohm-cm. This coke size provides a specific sedimentation rate of 3-1000 cm2 / cm3.
Upon reaching the cathode cell capacity determined by a predetermined time, the cathode material with precipitated copper is sent for further processing to extract copper.

Invention Formula
A cathode for the electroextraction of copper from aqueous acidic solutions, made of
15 of an electrically conductive material, characterized in that, in order to extract copper from poor acid solutions, it is made of coke with a particle size of minus 20 plus 80 mesh and has a porosity of 25-97%.
